KAZUKI REWARDS / THE SHOP PROJECT

Existing loyalty.
Made visible.

A loyalty app for a family-run shop in Handlová: collect points, discover offers and redeem rewards.

Kazuki Rewards deals catalogue with product photos, category filters and current offers for products such as ramen and mochi.
The problem
Regulars were rewarded only if the person at the counter remembered them.
What I did
Researched the shop and its customers, then designed and built a loyalty app with points, deals and rewards.
My role
UX research, UI design & development
Result
All 5 usability participants completed every task unaided.

A familiar face.
An informal discount.

Kazuki has built a loyal local customer base over more than a decade. Returning customers sometimes got a discount, but it depended on who was at the counter and whether they remembered.

How might we make loyalty simple, transparent and personal for the people already coming back?

Give existing loyalty
a visible system.

Research showed customers already valued two things: the shop’s distinctive products and their relationship with the owners and staff. So points make progress visible, offers connect people with products they like, and rewards give them something clear to work towards.

  1. 01 Shop & collect points
  2. 02 Browse offers & rewards
  3. 03 Activate & use a reward

From everyday purchases
to a reward worth using.

Points, deals and rewards live in one mobile app. Customers browse offers by category and see how many points each reward needs, from percentage discounts to product rewards.

Kazuki reward options include 5% and 10% shopping discounts, a jasmine rice reward and a mystery box, with point requirements and activation or locked states.
Reward catalogue · Personal details and QR codes removed.

A clearer confirmation
after activation.

Usability participants completed every task without assistance.

Testing also showed one gap: after activating a reward, people weren’t sure when it would be used.

THE DESIGN ITERATION

Explain what happens at checkout.

The confirmation now says the reward applies automatically at the next checkout scan.

An editor for the shop.
Data behind every point.

The shop team keeps deals and rewards current in Sanity, with fields for product names, descriptions, categories and prices. Supabase holds customer profiles, point history, transactions and reward records.

Sanity Studio · Deals and rewards editor, privacy-edited.
Supabase · Points transactions, record values obscured.

A foundation for
consistent recognition.

Kazuki Rewards turns an informal habit into a working app. Next is everyday use in the shop: do customers understand their rewards, does it fit the checkout routine, and can the team keep the content current?
