Splitting one shared grocery receipt meant typing every price into a calculator.
What I did
Designed the flow from receipt photo to digital list, item assignment and a MobilePay request.
My role
Product design & development
Status
Figma design complete. App in development, not yet tested with users.
01 / THE PROBLEM
We finished shopping. Then came the calculator.
After a trip to Netto with a friend, everything was on one receipt: some things were mine, some were his, some were for the household. We went through it line by line with a calculator.
What if a photo could do the typing, leaving us to choose who bought what?
02 / SCAN & REVIEW
From a paper receipt to a digital list.
Take a photo and Tillio reads the item names and prices. The next screen lets you check the list and fix anything it misread before splitting.
01 / Photograph the receipt Or upload an existing photo.
02 / Review the items Fix anything misread before splitting.
03 / ASSIGN & SETTLE UP
Tap a name. The app does the maths.
Household members sit beside every item. Tap one person for a personal purchase, or several to split it equally, so nobody works out shares by hand.
03 / Assign items One person, or split equally between several.
Every amount links back to the items behind it, and the person who paid can request the money through MobilePay.
04 / See the share Each amount shows the items behind it.
05 / Request payment MobilePay opens with the amount filled in.
04 / BEFORE THE RECEIPT
“We’re out of oil. I’ll get it on my way.”
A shared list shows what’s running out and who’s buying it. Those purchases come back through the receipt, so the household knows who bought what and who owes whom.
06 / Shared list Household essentials and personal shopping together.
05 / WHAT’S NEXT
Designed. Now building.
I’m building the app to use in my own household. Next, I’ll test it with other households: can they scan, fix, assign and settle up without help?
